"The world is a mess and I just need to rule it" -- Dr. Horrible

Why is love so complicated? Its something we all want and need, but it's something that we never seem to get quite right. Some of us love too hard. Some of us don't love enough. Many of us love what we can not have, as if the unattainable is much sweeter. Often, we take love for granted, as if those who love us will always love us. As a matter of fact some of us don't even realize how much we care about someone until they're gone.

The Bible says, "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails." I believe this is an excellent description of what love is, but it is not a good description of human nature. Sometimes in the heart of mankind love is unrequited, obsessive and co-dependent. It often comes at the wrong time. How many of us have passed on an opportunity to be with someone because the timing was off? Maybe you just broke up with someone and didn't want to jump in to another relationship. Maybe you've loved a person for years, but were too afraid to say anything, only to find out they've felt the same way too. Unfortunately, both of you are married. What about those who feel like they are with the wrong person because they forgot why they fell in love with them in the first place. Often, they remember why AFTER they are separated from that person. I guess love is so complicated because even though the concept of love is pure and perfect, the human race is not.
