Auld Lang Syne
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind ?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and auld lang syne ?
CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
The song Auld Lang Syne comes from a poem written by the Scottish poet, Robert Burns. The phrase "auld lang syne" is Scottish / Gaelic for "days gone by" or "days since passed". For some reason I get a little teary eyed when I sing this song at the dawn of the New Year. I guess because its hard for me to let go of things -- even painful things. Anyway, Happy New Year everyone. May you look back fondly on the good things 2006 had to bring (even if they were little things) and may you look forward to 2007 with hope.
